Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Former President
Dr. Festus Iyayi, this afternoon died in an auto crash while heading to Kano
State for the ASSU National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for the call off of
the four months long strike of the Union. This incident happened in Lokoja
It reports that it is the Kogi State Governor’s (Mr. Idris)
convoy that wrecked with the vehicle that conveyed Prof. Iyayi, in the said
vehicle were some other members of the Union traveling together with him.
Iyaya died instantly while two others persons that co-travelled in the
vehicle were seriously injured. May Soul of Professor Iyayi rest in perfect
Peace and others injured get healed Aman.
